Hill the clear pick for school board

Jenny Hill is a wonderful candidate for school board District 6. She’s smart, compassionate, driven, knowledgeable, a go-getter and a mother of two who are in the public school system; they are two of the driving forces behind her passion. Jenny wants our education system to work for her family and for all.

I fully believe that she will fight for and stand up for what is right. Many of our conversations center around equity among schools. She wants to make sure that all the schools in her district receive the support specific to their needs. To me, she’s the clear choice.

Henry will help students find place

Michael Henry, District 6 school board candidate, has spent time working in the local schools as a teacher as well as working as a consultant with entrepreneurs and small businesses uncovering issues and conceptualizing solutions.

He will focus on creating opportunities for students to embrace the uniqueness of Chattanooga and helping them find their place in the future workforce. He believes students cannot capitalize on available opportunities unless they are in good health.

He advocates later start times and better nutritional food options in our schools as an approach to the good health issue. He recognizes the needs of our community cannot be served without accessible channels of communication for his constituents.

The final pillar of his platform is good communication. If you want to serve all people, then you must be able to speak to and hear from all people. In his own business with his clients, he has done this. Good communication and accessibility build trust, which leads to support. Michael Henry will do this for District 6.

Out of his cage, Trump stains U.S.

Every time we let our president out of his cage to venture overseas, he makes a fool out of himself and stains the U.S. The problem is, even in his cage, he has two opposable thumbs, Fox TV and Twitter.

What he seems to miss is the fact that everybody knows a bully when they see one – a loud blowhard who tries to project a tough-guy image. But when the rubber meets the road (Vietnam), he turns and runs, bone spurs and all.

What does Putin have on Trump?

Bredesen gets us Schumer; don’t do it

Why Marsha Blackburn will defeat Phil Bredesen (response to previous letter):

Phil Bredesen was personally recruited by Chuck Schumer to run for the Senate. Chuck Schumer’s buddies at the Senate Majority PAC already have put in $2 million in ad spending to get Bredesen elected so Schumer can control the Senate and block President Trump’s agenda at every turn.

President Trump’s historic tax cuts, the appointment of strict constitutionalists to the Supreme Court and the ability to protect our communities by ending sanctuary city policies are all on the ballot in November’s election. Phil Bredesen will vote with Democratic Party leaders over Tennessee’s best interests every single time.

Marsha Blackburn is the only candidate we can trust to represent Tennessee’s values in Washington. No amount of money spent by establishment Democrats in Washington will be enough to convince Tennesseans to give Schumer the Senate majority.

In November 2016, we voted to elect President Trump so he could fight to give us back control of our country from liberal elites. This November, we will make sure Tennessee isn’t responsible for sending another liberal elite in Phil Bredesen to Washington.
