An early morning crash Friday claimed the life of a driver when she lost control of her Lincoln Town Car on Shallowford Road, fishtailed and struck the front of a CARTA bus, Chattanooga police said.
Alicia Wright Nazario, 23, who was not wearing a seat belt,was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile riding in a car seat in the Town Car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Town Car was exiting Interstate 75 north onto Shallowford Road east when, based on physical evidence and video from the bus, it went out of control and struck the front of the bus.
The driver of the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority bus and a passenger were transported to a hospital by emergency personnel for minor injuries.
