Half way through the fiscal year, Catoosa County tax revenues are running behind last year, but still ahead of the county’s reduced budget.
County financial officer Carl Henson told the County Commission this morning that the numbers were not great but they are improving.
The county brought in $507,637 in March based on February sales, records show, which is $83,000 more than last March and $44,000 more than was
budgeted for this year.
Six months into the fiscal year, the county is $102,000 ahead of the budget but $118,000 behind last year’s figures. The $507,000 is about $44,000 more than last month which is a good
sign to Mr. Henson.
“We’re still climbing out,” he said. “We’re still $118,000 in the hole, but we were $200,000 last month.”
