According to Hugh Harris, owner of Farm to Fork, word is really spreading about the Ringgold restaurant’s catering. And it is no surprise – particularly after Farm to Fork fed hundreds during the Longest Table fundraiser event.
The Longest Table, which benefited Primary Healthcare Center, featured an enormous dinner table located on the street outside of the courthouse in downtown Ringgold. In attendance were 192 people, for whom Farm to Fork served its wood fire-grilled Angus beef tenderloin medallions, fire-grilled asparagus, smashed sweet potatoes and signature soup – all served on real china with real silverware, of course.
“You don’t want to eat that kind of quality steak with a plastic fork,” Hugh said.
Ambiance, he continued, is important. But so is flavor, and part of Farm to Fork’s newfound catering success, said Hugh, is due to the kitchen finally learning how to take its famous fire-grilled flavor on the go.
Some of its most popular catering spreads include those aforementioned wood fire-grilled beef medallions, but Farm to Fork also offers wood fire-grilled salmon and chicken. This time of year, said Hugh, its chicken and dressing is big, and its macaroni and cheese – voted the No. 1 mac and cheese in Ringgold on Yelp.com – is big year-round.
“Over the last couple months, we’ve tripled our catering business and doubled our in-store business,” said Hugh.
It is easy to see – or taste, rather – why: Though catering menus are customizable, that same mac and cheese is found on its in-store menu, alongside those beef medallions and a long list of soups, salads, sandwiches and more. Soon, it will include a new list of seasonal selections. Spread the word.
