East Ridge police have identified the man whose body was found Thursday in West Chickamauga Creek.

Barry A. Moody, 22, of Ooltewah, was found near the walking track of the creek in Camp Jordan, according to an East Ridge Public Safety news release.

Police do not suspect foul play at this time, but the case is being treated as a homicide because of the unknown circumstances surrounding Mr. Moody’s death, said safety spokesman Erik Hopkins.

The investigation is considered ongoing, pending the results of the medical examiner’s report, he said.
