CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Bradley Central was missing junior forward Caroline Smith in its basketball game against the McMinn Central girls Tuesday night at Jim Smiddy Arena, but the visiting Chargerettes got full work out of Jenna Adams.
Adams, a Lee University signee, totaled 28 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots, and McMinn Central held off a late Bradley charge to defeat the Bearettes 67-64.
Adams also made a behind-the-back assist to Ashley Knox on a fastbreak with under two minutes remaining, but her biggest play was a steal in the final seconds with Bradley trying to set up a 3-point attempt for Kayla Beavers.
Beavers had hit two 3s in the final 1:33 to trim a 10-point deficit to 65-64.
“It definitely helped to have players in there that had been in tight games before,” McMinn Central coach Johnny Morgan said.
