TVA role ranked in development
The Tennessee Valley Authority, Georgia Power and Alabama Power Co. were among the top 10 utilities in North America recognized by Site Selection magazine in its 2011 award for the best utilities for economic development.
The trade publication chose the utilities based upon an analysis of project activity in their respective areas, the utility’s website tools and data, incentives for business location and expansion and the opinions of site selectors and businesses surveyed by Conway Data Corp. TVA has been included on the list for the past six years.
“The most powerful utility economic development teams are backed by corporations that don’t just move power around – they wield it,” says Adam Bruns, managing editor of Site Selection. “They do that through innovative programs for business, collaboration with community partners and their own investment in generation, transmission and other assets.”
