Ruby Falls is offering another way to cool off in June. The 60-degree temperature inside the cavern is standard; what’s new is a monthlong Ice Cream Festival.
The attraction at 1720 S. Scenic Highway is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. The festival runs 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Visitors can select from several flavors of hand-dipped Mayfield’s ice cream. Samples to help with the decision are free.
Children 3-12 may take part in a Cavern Scavenger Hunt. Using a digital camera brought from home, they take pictures of certain cave formations during the cave and waterfall tour, then show the photos to vendors afterward for a free treat.
Admission is $17.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 3-12.
