The Mocs completed a 24-player signing class for 2018 on Wednesday, with six three-star recruits on their list.

This past November, new University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletic director Mark Wharton said the football program would sign the “best recruiting class in UTC history” during the 2018 cycle.

Only time will determine if he’s right, but the Mocs certainly got a haul.

On Wednesday, they added 11 players to their 2018 signing class to go with the 13 they picked up in the early signing period in December. The class was ranked third in the country at the Football Championship Subdivision level by 247Sports.com, behind Ivy League programs Princeton and Yale.

UTC signed a school-record six three-star recruits, including two – wide receiver Genuine Potts and defensive lineman Josh Walker – who didn’t announce their intentions before signing Wednesday. The Mocs’ previous record for three-star signees was three in both 2014 and 2016.

They also signed 16 all-state selections, which topped the dozen the program signed in 2014.
