Chattanooga: Overnight shooting injures one

Chattanooga police responded Thursday night to a reported gunshot victim.

Upon their arrival at 3810 Sherwood Lane, they found Darius Robinson, 21, with a minor wound to his left thigh, said Lt. Kim Noorbergen, police spokeswoman.

Mr. Robinson stated he was driving home from the Kanku’s on Wilcox Boulevard when a gray Ford Taurus pulled up beside his vehicle and began firing shots, the lieutenant said.

He was struck in the thigh by one of the shots but continued to drive.

Later, after turning onto Lightfoot Mill Road, he told police he saw a second vehicle parked on the side of the road. As he passed, one of the occupants in the vehicle fired at him, he told police.

Mr. Robinson sustained a minor abrasion to his leg, Lt. Noorbergen said. He has been treated and released from the hospital, she said.
