“I’ve known [salon owner] Janet [Smith] a while, and a lot of people were looking for a manicurist at the salon,” said McGann, who was recently trained in the latest techniques. “If you’re on the mountain, there’s not a lot of people who do it [provide nail services].”
The salon offers shellac gel polish from CND and provides gloves with open fingertips to patrons while they are sitting under the drying UV light in order to protect the skin, she said.
McGann also offers traditional manicures and pedicures with OPI polish.
The foot bath on J. Smith’s pedicure chair has disposable liners for sanitation, and McGann said she keeps each customer’s nail file, buffer and toe separators in a pouch for when they return. She only reuses her stainless steel tools and sanitizes them after each use, she added.
