Chattanooga Housing Authority police reported finding the first meth lab in public housing at College Hill Courts this week.
CHA’s chief of public safety, Felix Vess ,said CHA police found the meth lab Tuesday when working with county officials to clean out a unit after a tenant had moved. The tenant had been gone at least two months, Chief Vess said.
County officials took the materials used to make meth as evidence, he said, and no charges have been filed at this time.
The apartment will not be reoccupied until it has been decontaminated, Chief Vess said.
