No one has heard from South Pittsburg, Tenn., resident Roger Tant since March 10, and nobody knew he was gone until his sister called authorities late last month to say she couldn’t find him.
Even his wife, Patricia Tant, who lives in the same home, did not tell authorities her 54-year-old husband was missing until after they followed up on his sister’s report.
Patricia Tant told authorities she hadn’t heard from her husband since she talked to him on the phone on March 10, Marion County Sheriff’s Detective Matt Blansett said Tuesday. She told officers she had been out of town and when she returned home March 10, Roger Tant was gone.
The couple have been married for about 20 years, and Patricia Tant has not explained why she didn’t report her husband’s disappearance, Blansett said. She told officers her husband didn’t say anything about leaving the last time they spoke by phone, he said.
Roger Tant’s sister, Connie Case, said Tuesday she hasn’t been able to reach her brother since May, when she called him for his birthday. They don’t talk often, she said, and she hadn’t spoken to him for some time prior to that.
