Nick Gordon tripled and homered Tuesday night at AT&T Field as the Chattanooga Lookouts continued to have their way with Birmingham.

Chattanooga’s 4-1 triumph before an announced crowd of 2,441 was its fourth consecutive over the Barons heading into this morning’s series finale. The Lookouts have won five straight overall and are seven games above .500 for the first time this season at 23-16.

Gordon opened with a triple to center field and came home on Edgar Corcino’s ensuing double to right. LaMonte Wade then had an infield hit that was followed by a throwing error, which enabled Corcino to score for a 2-0 lead.

The Lookouts doubled that advantage to 4-0 in the fourth inning on Gordon’s two-run homer run to right-center, his third of the season.

That was more than enough for Chattanooga pitchers Nik Turley and Matt Tracy, who each worked four innings and combined to allow five hits and one run. Nick Burdi worked a hitless ninth inning to lower his season earned run average to 0.61.

Felix Jorge (3-1, 3.45) is scheduled to start this morning’s 11:15 contest for the Lookouts, with Thaddius Lowry (2-2, 6.56) scheduled for the Barons.
