Not many weeks go by without some national publication applauding Chattanooga as a great place to live. Sometimes the city has gained praise for its wealth of recreational activities. At other times, it has been heralded for its affordable housing.
Now, a national business magazine is telling America what Chattanoogans already know: that this city and the surrounding area have high potential for economic growth. Business Facilities magazine ranks metro Chattanooga No. 1 in the country for growth potential, ahead of many other prominent and larger cities.
Chattanooga’s attracting the Volkswagen manufacturing plant was one of the factors the magazine cited. And Jack Rogers, editor in chief of the New Jersey-based magazine, said Tennessee’s tax structure (the state has no general personal income tax) and other factors have laid a good foundation for growth.
For good measure, the magazine also put Chattanooga in its Top 10 rankings for best cost of living.
The hard work of Chattanooga and our region for economic development clearly continues to pay dividends.
