Q: Dad, what should I expect to get out of an internship?
A: Knowledge and experience. Sometimes people get a job offer, but not always. Short of that, you might find that you really do want to do that type of work — or that you really don’t. Either is very valuable information, and far better to find out you don’t like a job before your mortgage and car payments depend on it.
