If you’ve ever listened to the “SportTalk” radio show during your afternoon commute and wished you could talk back to Dr. Basketball, here’s your chance.
Gary Haskew, aka Dr. B to “SportTalk” fans, has the dubious distinction of being the honoree at the Roast/Toast of Champions on Tuesday night to benefit the Classic 150 Club. The roast and toast starts at 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center, 1 Carter Plaza.
Classic 150 Club is a nonprofit that donates funds to bring high-profile sports events to the city.
Roasters will include Frank Burke, president and owner of the Chattanooga Lookouts; Scott “Quake” McMahan, Dr. B’s partner on air for 20 years; John Shulman, UTC basketball coach; Dewey “Swamp Rat” Warren, former UT quarterback; and Kenny Smith, chairman of the Hamilton County School Board.
Tickets are $125 per person, $800 for tables of eight.
If you’re more comfortable as a bleacher bum, there is a $25 individual ticket that gets you a seat in the bleachers, a hot dog and soft drink.
