ONEIDA, Tenn. – Oil and gas well plugging and mine closure projects begin Monday at the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.
Well plugging will begin on Darrow Ridge east of Jamestown. Mine closures will start in the Blue Heron Mine area in McCreary County, Ky.
The work is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Some access roads and trails may be closed temporarily.
