The Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim in Saturday’s apartment fire as Valerie Myers, 42.
The Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as smoke inhalation, confirming today that this is the first fire-related fatality of the year for Chattanooga. The cause of the fire at 518 E. 5th Street remains under investigation.
