A cat saved the life of a Cleveland woman on Thursday morning after meowing long enough and loud enough to wake her up when a fire started in her home, according to a McKamey Animal Shelter news release.
Angela Cornett got up in time to get her herself and her three children out of the house. The blaze and smoke damaged the home.
Cornett adopted “Busterfur Jones” from McKamey Animal Center last September.
During the incident, “Busterfur Jones” was injured, sustaining head trauma, but the cat has an 80 to 90 percent chance of surviving, the news release stated.
