Google competition
You know the fun Google logos that adorn the search engine page every now and then? For the last couple of years, Google has challenged kids, kindergartners through high school seniors, to try their hands at doodling a Google design.
Now, they’re launching their third Doodle 4 Google competition and the prizes are a $15,000 college scholarship for the national winner, laptops, trips to New York and technology awards for eight lucky schools.
The theme is “If I Could Do Anything, I Would …” Contest entries come in via classrooms. Teachers need to register their classrooms by March 17, and submissions are due by March 31.

CAN YOU HELP THIS MOM?
“My 7-week-old son started daycare, he is going from about 11 a.m. to almost 6 p.m. I am really happy with the daycare staff and all the other babies look really happy, but my son is not sleeping while he is there. He usually takes at least one long nap (2-plus hours) in the afternoon but since starting daycare he has gotten a total of an hour all week. He will sleep for about 20 minutes at a time, and when he gets home he is completely wiped out and very unhappy. Is he just adjusting to a new environment? Is this normal for babies starting daycare?”
