Sonoraville co-captain Emalie Hicks has committed to continue her volleyball career at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga.

Hicks finished the 2015 season No. 1 in Georgia Class AAA with 435 kills and second with four per set. She also had 121 digs, 67 aces and an .889 serving percentage and made the AAA all-state team.

“Emalie is a tremendous all-around player,” Sonoraville coach Trace Vaughn said via email. “She’s worked extremely hard to get to where she is now, and she is going to a program that Coach (Melody) Tenney has heading in the right direction at Truett.

“I am extremely proud of Emalie’s progress as a player, and I’m especially proud that she has grown into a wonderful young lady.”
