Crown Financial Ministries will present two short films from its new God Provides film learning experience at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road. Registration is requested by Wednesday at www.crown.org/register. Admission is free.
The films bring to life the biblical stories of Abraham and Isaac, and the widow and oil. Additionally, Crown CEO Chuck Bentley, executive producer of the film series, will present a live teaching. Bentley is the host of a daily radio show, “MoneyLife,” which is broadcast locally on WMBW.
“God Provides is a series of six dramatic, theater-quality short films designed for those seeking God’s will for their lives and needing guidance to make money — and life — decisions,” according to producers. “Timeless illustrations leap off the pages of Scripture and into modern lives to demonstrate how to faithfully live with trust in God, our Ultimate Provider.”
The God Provides films premiered at the 2009 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. Golden Globe nominee Dean Jones received a Lifetime Achievement Jubilee Award for his portrayal of Abraham in three of the six films.
Chip Ingram, president of the radio show “Living on the Edge,” said the films “set the new standard in excellence” by “making God’s Word accessible.”
