A vote of the Southern Conference basketball coaches has the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga finishing third in the North Division.
The Mocs were selected in the annual poll to finished behind Appalachian State and Western Carolina, but ahead of UNC Greensboro, Elon and Samford.
“Preseason predictions are just that – predictions,” UTC coach John Shulman said. “Both years that we were picked fourth, we won the league.”
The coaches selected defending conference champion Wofford to win the South ahead of Charleston, Davidson, The Citadel, Furman and Georgia Southern.
They also selected a 10-man All-SoCon team including preseason player of the year Charleston guard Andrew Goudelock. None of the Mocs were placed on the team.
