River Gallery will host a reception Friday, March 2, to open its March exhibit of work by edie Maney (who spells her first name with a lower-case E). Maney will be on hand to greet visitors to the reception, which will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the gallery, 400 E. Second St.
Maney creates bold works with watercolor, acrylics and mixed-media on paper and canvas. She works all around her canvases to create a path to draw viewers into the emotions created by the colors in her work.
“My intention is to invite the viewer to become lost in my paintings; like a journey, feeling emotions of pleasure, playfulness and drama,” she says in her artist statement.
