NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Police in Tennessee say a man was shot and killed on a city bus.
Metro Nashville Police said on Twitter that the 18-year-old suspect in Monday’s shooting in the Madison area of Nashville is in custody.
Police didn’t immediately release more identifying information on the suspected shooter or victim.
In July, a new state law made it legal for people with handgun-carry permits to bring guns on city buses.
Police have not said whether the shooter Monday had a permit.
The NRA-backed law requires cities and counties to use metal detectors and other security on buses and at many local facilities if they want to ban guns there.
Transit officials have said the security changes would be logistically impossible for buses and bus stations.
