“Animals With Attitude” have overrun the Artisan Depot in Cowan, Tenn.
For the gallery’s next community art show, animals in metal, watercolor, acrylic, photography, pen and ink and even pen and coffee adorn the exhibit spaces.
The show opens today, Sept. 8, and a meet-the-artists reception is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. CDT Friday, Sept. 9. Also expected to be in attendance at the reception are Animals from Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary, a large animal rescue operation in Middle Tennessee.
The show will run through Saturday, Oct. 22. Also on view is “The Three Graces,” a member show that continues through Sunday, Sept. 18.
Artists of all ages may submit works in any medium for inclusion in the community art shows. The next will have “Patriotism” at its theme, which artists may interpret as they wish. Entries will be accepted Oct. 20-23. The show will coincide with a member art show by veterans.
The Artisan Depot, 204 E. Cumberland St., is operated by the Franklin County Arts Guild. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays (all times are Central).
