Wait, is it really January??
Every new year I like to come up with a few goals and resolutions for the next 12 months, but it’s a bit trickier this year. Sometimes I feel like just yesterday it was March, and I was sitting at my desk in the newsroom explaining the meaning of the word “coronavirus.” If 2020 taught me anything, it’s that health care reporters can have a hard time making and sticking to plans during a pandemic. Although I love the idea of a fresh start, it’s clear that the news isn’t slowing down any time soon. Hamilton County’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have never been higher, while at the same time a historic, mass vaccination campaign is just now ramping up.
I’m ready for a few days of rest and reflection before diving back into coverage on Jan. 5. At this point, what I’m most looking forward to in 2021 is seeing this pandemic through to the other side.
Stay safe,
