Tennessee’s third-biggest bank, FirstBank, boosted its earnings by 19.2 percent last year to nearly $33.4 million.

The $2.4 billion-asset bank, which operates 48 branches including one in downtown Chattanooga, said 2014 was the third consecutive year of record profits.

“We continue to show healthy growth across our entire footprint, including all our lines of business,” FirstBank President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Holmes said.

FirstBank expanded last year into Huntsville, Ala.

“This gives us confidence as we look for opportunities to expand our community-style banking approach to new consumer and business customers in 2015,” Holmes said.
