Fun and flexibility reign at Mountain Education Foundation’s summer program

No matter what your child’s interests or time constraints may be, chances are good that the Mountain Education Foundation’s Summer Enrichment Day Camp program has an option that fits his or her needs.

The six-week program begins June 5, and both half- and full-day options are available. Kids can sign up by the week or for the entire program.

“We wanted to be flexible for all the different lifestyles our families have over the summer,” said camp director Kim Rackel.

Every week, the program features a different theme. One week focuses on classic novels, while another is centered on the theme of popular TV shows. Campers can explore different time periods and career possibilities. Builders and creators will especially love the power-themed session, which is being brought back this year with new activities, as well as the new inventor-themed week.

While the themes vary, activities every week include cooking, coding, hiking and, new this year, a virtual reality component, all of which correspond with the week’s theme, Rackel said.
