Sharing their caring

You never know when somebody is watching.

The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home hosted an art show two years ago and wound up not only with a mural done by artist Tim Miller but also having the organization’s name and reputation for good work passed on to Comcast.

Next Saturday, more than 200 local volunteers from the cable corporation and their families — as part of the corporation’s annual Comcast Cares Day — will join several hundred other volunteers to give the campus on Lee Highway a facelift.

“It’s a big day for us,” said Carl Willis, regional vice president at the Chattanooga campus. “You name it, we’re doing it.”

The campus, which was founded in 1953, will get roof work, carpeting, landscaping and brush clearing. In addition, a gazebo will be built, a walking trail will be lined with logs and the tennis courts will be painted.
