A 42-year-old man was killed in the 2700 block of Dodds Avenue when a car turned left in front of his Honda motorcycle and he was then struck by another vehicle.
Police said Willie Person was traveling south on Dodds at 9:40 p.m. when a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Saahe Johnson, 33, made a left turn across his path. Person was thrown to the ground and run over by a Chrysler minivan traveling north on Dodds. In the darkness, the van driver didn’t see the man lying in the road, police spokeswoman Elisa Myzal said in the release.
She said Johnson at first kept driving but stopped after realizing someone had been struck.
Person died at the scene.
The traffic division is investigating.
