The Ooltewah-Harrison Education Foundation is hosting its inaugural Tin Cup Golf Tournament to benefit the five elementary schools in the county’s District 9 on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The event is being held at Bear Trace at Harrison Bay, an 18-hole golf course just past Harrison Bay State Park. In addition to the tournament, the event will feature food donated by Southern Burger, beer donated by Budweiser and a silent auction, said D9 board member James Walker.

“With our events, we want to reach out to all different types of people in our community,” he said. ” We try to reach out to as many diverse groups as we can and golf seemed like a good next step.”
