Today’s forecast

Good Wednesday. Here we go. Our entire area is under a WIND ADVISORY through this evening. Winds will blow from the southeast at 20-30mph with gusts in excess of 40mph as a front presses through the Tennessee Valley. We may see some spotty showers this morning in advance of the main line of rain. I expect the main line to move over the Cumberland Plateau from 12-1pm, through the Tennessee Valley from 1pm-4pm, and through the Blue Ridge Mtns from 4pm-8pm. Rainfall amounts widespread will be around 2″. A FLOOD WATCHis in effect for our north Georgia counties where some spots in the mountains could get up to 3″.

As the rain ends tonight, and the winds die down, we will be a bit cooler Thursday morning with a low of 48. However, it will be mild with sunny skies in the afternoon. Look for a high of 64. Friday will be dry and even cooler with a low of 41 and a high of 59.

Another weak front will push through this weekend. The rain chance will be low as the air will be too dry for anything of significance. The big impact will be another shot of cool air. Saturday will be similar to Friday… cool and dry. The low will be 40 and the high 58. The cool air behind the next front will settle in Saturday night.

Sunday will start with a low of 32. The high will climb to only 49.
