Chattanooga: Truck driver dies while pulling out of DuPont plant

A 54-year-old truck driver died today of natural causes while pulling his tractor-trailer out of the DuPont plant in Hixson, police said.

Wallace M. Curtis was leaving DuPont with 40,000 pounds of yarn in his trailer, police said, when he appears to have died of natural causes, causing the truck to go straight across North Access Road and into the fence of the McKamey Animal Care and Adoption Center.

There were no other vehicles involved, police said.

Mr. Curtis’ body was transported to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
