The first crash was reported at 6:36 a.m. on the Wilkes T. Thrasher Bridge and shut down the northbound roadway.
The second crash was reported minutes later between North Access Road and the Chickamauga Dam and shut down both lanes southbound.
Both crashes are expected to be cleared by 8 a.m.
