Lookouts win two over Generals

Hours after being named to the Southern League All-Star Game, Adam Walker drove in four runs and Jose Berrios picked up his seventh pitching victory as the Chattanooga Lookouts won the opening seven-inning game of a Southern League baseball doubleheader Tuesday night in Jackson, Tenn.

Then the Lookouts won game two 3-2 after building a 3-0 lead over the Jackson Generals.

Another Chattanooga all-star, Byron Buxton, scored in the first and third innings of the first game to give the Lookouts a 2-1 lead before Walker hit a two-run home run to left field in the fifth. Walker had an RBI double to center in the seventh inning and scored on Max Kepler’s triple to right.

In the nightcap the Lookouts used four pitchers for a five-hitter, the win going to Madison Boer, who pitched a scoreless fourth inning after starter Tim Shibuya allowed only two hits and no runs in three innings.

The Lookouts did all their offensive damage in the fourth. They took a 2-0 lead on Mike Gonzales’ two-run double and added what would be the game-winner on Buxton’s two-out single, his 36th RBI. The Generals made it a one-run game in the sixth with a pair of runs, but J.T. Chargois made the lead stand up with a perfect seventh inning to record his first save.
