It’s hard to resist summer’s warm invitation to venture outdoors and Coolidge Park on Chattanooga’s North Shore entices families, couples and friends to its green fields, refreshing fountain and family-favorite carousel. While regular picnics are great and there’s not a better place to enjoy the heart of Chattanooga at sunset, much more is happening in and around Coolidge Park this month.
Coolidge Park
Chattanooga’s North Shore
Being in Coolidge Park in July is seeing summer at its prime. The fountain is flowing with cool water, the 100-yearold restored carousel is playing its tune and the lazy ways of weekends can be seen on blankets strewn across green grass. The city park is truly a jewel of
Chattanooga and July is the best time to be there. Pops on the River, a night of music and fireworks celebrating America’s independence, fills the park on the evening of July 3 beginning at 8 p.m. and ending with a firework show around 9:45. Every Saturday night in July, Movies in the Park comes to Coolidge, so make sure you bring your family out for the fun. You can’t beat a free movie on a cool summer night. Both events are popular, so make a day or afternoon out of visiting Coolidge and show up a little early.
