Lake Johnson made a double-bogey Tuesday on his last hole of the Baylor Preview high school golf tournament at Black Creek Club.
He thought it could cost him medalist honors. Then Chattanooga Christian teammate Scott Stevens signed for the same score of 5-under-par 139.
They tied. They did not play off; instead, they will share the honors.
“He’s never won it, and I never won it, and this is our last year to play in it,” Johnson said. “So we decided to share it.”
Johnson and Stevens opened with 6-under 66s on Monday then and shot 73s on the second day.
