photo Fields’ agency office at 3206 Dayton Boulevard was purchased and renovated early in 2016. Janet Sanchez-Grimm, an employee with the office, said the decision to purchase rather than rent was a deliberate one, designed to improve a piece of property on the road and work to become one with the community.

Fields Insurance opened a new branch on Dayton Boulevard earlier this year. Owner Michael Fields has one goal whenever his Memphis-based business expands into a new area: become a part of the local community.

This drive to connect with the people around the Red Bank location has led the new branch to sponsor Red Bank High School. The agency has already donated roughly $1,500 since it opened around February.

“We’d like to make a difference whenever and wherever we have that opportunity,” said Fields. “We are not only about protecting the community, but also about being a part of and being involved in the community as a whole.”

The funding thus far has been directed at the RBHS football team and cheerleading squad in the form of donations, gear and meals. In the future, local Fields agent Janet Sanchez-Grimm said, the business wants to explore more opportunities, such as supporting the school’s special education program.

Fields said as the agency becomes more established, he will look into even more community support opportunities. Two of his agencies in Fayette County, for example, have partnered with a domestic violence prevention organization in the county as well as with their local elementary schools.

“I think this is all a critical component of showing how you want to support and become part of the community,” Sanchez-Grimm said.

In addition to working with RBHS to provide funding, the new Fields office has strived to integrate itself into the culture of Red Bank in other ways, she added. The office, at 3206 Dayton Blvd., was purchased and renovated by Fields as opposed to rented. Sanchez-Grimm said they tried to use only local services for the renovation, such as using nearby Clean Sweep to initially clean up the property and Titan Heating and Air, just a few blocks down from the new office, for their HVAC needs.

“It’s the philosophy of Mr. Fields and myself that this is how you integrate into a community,” said Sanchez-Grimm, who has lived in the Chattanooga area since 1997. “It’s the little things that make a difference when doing business, and we want to show that we have Red Bank pride.”
