Now that fall is in full swing, it’s time to trade our road routes for the scenic trails around the city.
After an exciting October celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Lula Lake Land Trust located just southwest of here in northwest Georgia, is much quieter now, but all the more beautiful as fall colors settle in.
Starting at the trailhead just off Lula Lake Road, it’s easy to build a good running route choosing from the 6 miles of trails. Make sure you see the upper falls and the grand views of north Georgia, but don’t forget about the steep hike down to the lower falls.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Lula Lake Land Trust also has a newly opened trail that connects the property all the way to Cloudland Canyon State Park, opening up miles and miles of trails if you’re on the ultra side of running. The Trust is only open to the public the first and last Saturday of the month, so pencil it on your calendar this month to take a post-turkey day trip for a quick trail run.
