The alleged getaway driver in a May robbery of the EPB Employee Credit Union has been arrested after a local and federal investigation.
Angela Johnson, 25, is accused of waiting in her car outside the credit union at 1500 McCallie Ave. for 36-year-old Montel Chubb on May 20, according to Hamilton County court records.
Chubb, dressed as a woman, walked into the credit union and handed a note to the clerk – which was later collected as evidence, court records state. The note was “threatening in nature,” and indicated that a robbery was taking place.
The clerk read the first few words and then screamed and ran to the back of the office, court records state.
Chubb then tried to leave through a glass door but discovered it was locked, court records show. Surveillance footage revealed he touched the door with his bare hands, and investigators were later able to collect those fingerprints.
