BISCUITS 12, LOOKOUTS 7
Friday’s recap: Hitting from the No. 9 hole in the lineup, Chattanooga shortstop Sean Miller went 3-for-3 – all doubles – walked and drove in a run, but the Lookouts lost their fifth straight as they opened a 10-game road trip that will wrap up the Southern League season’s first half. Chattanooga led 5-0 and 6-2 before Montgomery answered with a seven-run fourth inning. Outhit 16-11, the Lookouts added their final run in the eighth when Miller scored on a wild pitch.
Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Montgomery, Alabama, is tonight at 7:05 EDT.
Pitchers: Omar Bencomo (4-0, 2.08) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Genesis Cabrera (5-3, 3.24) scheduled for the Biscuits.
Transactions: On Friday, the Minnesota Twins released Lookouts infielder T.J. White, who hit .276 in 96 games last season but was hitting just .187 through 39 games this year. Lookouts catcher Brian Olson was placed on the disabled list (hamstring) retroactive to June 7 and replaced on the roster by catcher Mitchell Kranson, who was called up from high Single-A Fort Myers of the Florida State League.
