DALTON, Ga. — Whitfield County pet owners can get low-cost rabies vaccinations at clinics scheduled throughout the county on Saturday.
Rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats will be $10.
Veterinarian Dr. Chris Stearns said the low fee is aimed at encouraging all pet owners to get their animals vaccinated against rabies, a fatal disease that can spread to humans.
“The rabies shots at the clinics are valid throughout the United States, so pet owners in northwest Georgia and Tennessee are welcome to bring their animals if they wish,” Dr. Stearns said.
“There is no excuse for not having cats and dogs vaccinated against rabies,” said Diane Franklin, Whitfield County rabies control officer. “It is just such an important health issue. Rabies is deadly and is in our area now.” For more information, call 706-278-2018.
