Mr. President,
Your hate-filled, racist rants have produced some deadly fruit.
While I realize that you did not physically pull the trigger at El Paso or any other mass shooting, the effect that you have created through your lies and exaggerations is just as lethal. When you whip a crowd at one of your rallies into a frenzy by telling them that an immigrant “invasion ” is coming, you are creating a potentially violent situation.
Mr. President, I heard your speech on the Monday following the shootings. You read the carefully crafted words in an unconvincing monotone. The words were what our country needed to hear, but considering your campaign rally rhetoric, I don’t believe you meant them.
Truth is a necessary part of trust.
