Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga is facilitating an outreach program to engage community arts organizations. The first Chattitup meeting will be held on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
The purpose of Chattitup is to bring together leadership and members of visual, performing and cultural arts organizations to work toward mutual goals for 2010.
“The event will provide an opportunity for people to become more involved with the arts and cultural institutions in Chattanooga,” said Austin Center, chairman of Hunter Museum of American Art’s Avant Art organization. “What better place to get all these groups together to build bridges toward the future than at the Theatre Centre with its upcoming performance of ‘Our Town.’ “
Organizations that will be represented so far are Allied Arts, Association for Visual Arts, Avant Art, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Association, Public Arts Chattanooga, YPAC, Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Bill Holmberg Arts Leadership Alumni and Bessie Smith Cultural Center.
Any organization, membership groups and individual is encouraged to attend.
