The North River Rotary Club will be hosting its third annual Gourmet Guys Food Tasting Gala at the Rivermont Presbyterian Church, located at 3119 Hixson Pike. The event takes place from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
The gala has raised funds in the past for computers, smart boards, projectors, educational materials and other needed supplies for local schools. The event will provide the best $10 meal in town while supporting service activities for local schools. Additional “chefs” are needed to complete the 30 chefs planned for this activity. The food tasting is judged by local celebrities and there is also a silent auction as well as other fun things for the family.
Invite your friends to attend and encourage local businesses to sponsor this fun and worthwhile event. For more information, visit www.rotarygourmetguys.org.
The Hixson Lions Club has placed donation boxes in 32 Hixson locations for its eyeglass recycling program. This is one example of how community service through the Lions Clubs is a rewarding activity that positively impacts the lives of others. For more information, contact Marsha Doebler at 842-5584.
