PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Tiger Woods spent about 30 minutes discussing his 2000 triumph at Pebble Beach, the current state of his game, his health and how the golf course has changed since he last played here in 2002.
He laughed a couple times and shared a joke or two, including how he hit a ball halfway to Japan back in 2000 from the 18th tee box.
And he told one reporter that his marital status with wife Elin Nordegren is “none of your business.”
Then the conversation returned to golf without any other inquiries into his life since he became front-page fodder for the grocery-line magazines in November.
“As far as my game, I’m very excited about how it’s progressed, since before the Memorial then obviously during the Memorial and now here it’s gotten better,” Woods said. “The more time I’ve been able to practice and play, it’s starting to solidify, and just I’m actually really excited to tee it up on Thursday.”
