Real Tide test

By Michael Casagrande

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Barrett Jones was on Alabama’s team flight back from Duke when he got the question.

First-year starting offensive linemen D.J. Fluker and Chance Warmack more than survived the first three tests of the season, but they asked the experienced Jones just how much the challenges would change as the Crimson Tide opened Southeastern Conference play this Saturday against Arkansas.

“I was like, ‘Well, they’re bigger, they’re faster and they’re strong,'” Jones related. “It’s pretty simple. We know we have to raise our game a little bit. We’re looking forward to doing that. We think we have the potential to be a great offensive line in the SEC as well. So this is where that starts.”
