Hamilton County Commissioners today approved a partnership agreement that will allow a public-private coalition to seek about $2.5 million in federal money for a 40-year, 16-county growth study.

The application deadline for the grant is tomorrow. The county, city, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and several area private foundations have committed at least $3 million to the study.

In other business, Chairman Larry Henry also asked Commissioner Greg Beck and his economic development committee to review a contract with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for wildlife management at the Enterprise South Nature Park at the request of two residents.
